On Wednesday’s episode of Conan, Aziz Ansari promoted his new comedy special Buried Alive. The new special will focus on the sphere of dating.
Ansari explained that he considers it to be a tough time to be single with the way communication is evolving. With everyone’s primary choice of communication being text messaging, Ansari described how frustrating and awkward it is to try to get to know someone through text.
“And that’s what being single is now… all that garbage,” Ansari stated after demonstrating the horror of texting. “That’s what it’s become. It’s pretty much now a lot of times like you’re a secretary for this really shoddy organization scheduling the dumbest shit with the flakiest people ever.”
Ansari said that he will go on tour for Buried Alive next year.
It seems that Ansari has been extremely focused on the subject of dating lately. Back in August, Ansari landed a deal with Penguin Press for a relationship book he is writing.
I wonder if there’s an underlining circumstance that has made the comedian feel he needs to be an advocate for dating.
